Day 1: Bucharest-Transfer and panoramic city tour
Arrival at Bucharest airport where you will be welcomed by your guide. Transfer to hotel. Depending on flight arrival, you can enjoy a panoramic walking tour in the old city center of Bucharest. Take a quick time leap, from the 18th to the 19th century, and you can admire the beautiful French-style buildings on Calea Victoriei Avenue. You will understand why it was said that Bucharest was a miniature Paris. Overnight in Bucharest.
Day 2: Bucharest-Communism in Romania
In the morning, our local guide will give an introduction on what was the communist regime in Romania and what consequences it had on the Romanian people and culture. We will visit key monuments such as Revolution Square, Parliament Palace. In the afternoon, visit to the The “Ceausescu Mansion” , the private residence of Ceausescu family. Overnight in Bucharest.
Day 3: Bucharest-Peles Castle–Brasov
Check out and departure early in the morning to Prahova County. The first stop will be Peles Castle, apalace of neo-renaissance architecture and saxon details. The castle was on of the favorits of King Carol I and in 1920 became the summer residence of the royal family and Queen Maria redecorated it into a spacious charming home. It is now a museum with a superb art collection. The tour continues with the visit of Brasov, city resplendent with gothic, baroque, and renaissance architecture as well as a wealth of historical attractions. Enjoy a guided tour of the “Crown City” and discover the beautiful colorful old town with the Council Square and the Black Church. Overnight in Brasov.
Day 4: Brasov–Fortified churches and Bran Castle-Brasov
Only few kilometres distance from Brasov, villages with Fortified Churches in Transylvania are listed as Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit of two of most well known churches, Prejmer – one of the best preserved of its kind in Eastern Europe – and Harman that dates back to the 13th century when Saxons built the original structure. The itinerary will continue with visit of Bran Castle, built on top of a 200 meter high rock, Dracula's Castle impresses with its towers and turrets. Overnight in Brasov.
Day 5: Brasov–Sighisoara–Sibiu
Check out and travel to Sighisoara a colourful medieval citadel. Today thanks to excellent conservation, Sighisoara is one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe, which led UNESCO to include the city in 1999 as a World Heritage Site. Visit the Clock Tower from the 14th century, which is the town’s landmark and the Church on the Hill. In the afternoon transfer to Sibiu , the most important of the cities founded during the 12th century by the so-called Saxons of Transylvania. Overnight in Sibiu.
Day 6: Sibiu–Old town and Museum of Folkloric Traditional Civilization
In the morning, get to know the old town of Sibiu. The narrow streets, colorful buildings in 3 central squares, arched houses, courtyards and mysterious tunnels, hallways and old roofs mottled with “eyes” wide will make you feel the charm of the city. After lunch, the tour continues with the visit to Astra, Museum of folkloric traditional civilization, the second largest open-air museum in the world. In the museum you can see the technical and architectural works of the Romanians. Windmills, machines, manufacturing, all in a natural environment with forests and ponds. Overnight in Sibiu.
Day 7: Sibiu–Cozia Monastery–Bucharest
Check out and transfer back to Bucharest. Along the way, we will visit the ancient Cozia Monastery. The most representative of this church are the frescoes of the exterior of the pronaos, dating back the 14th century where Byzantine influence is evident. Free afternoon in Bucharest, overnight.
Day 8: Bucharest–Departure
Check out and transfer to the airport. End of the services.
